Re: HYB:REB:cultivars

Platinum is a nice parent, giving ruffly children. Good to cross it with something taller as it has tendency to produce short stuff. Midnight Caller hasn't been a good parent for me, produces narrow, strappy and ugly hafty kids. Haven't used the others.

Good Morning Griff and anyone not gone to convention.?

Although I've been making crosses since 1986, there are a number of reputable reblooming?irises that I've?not tried in breeding.? Does anyone have any experience with seedlings from the following list of cultivars?

Silver Dividends (I appreciate any information on this one)
Grace Thomas
Platinum
Midnight Caller
Luminosity (wasn't crazy about the branching on this one when it bloomed in the fall of 2005)?

Grace Thomas, being a child of Spirit of Memphis, might breed the ring pattern we discussed earlier in the year?? That's a question in case anyone has made crosses in that direction.?

These and several others have large clumps this year, insuring?major?opportunity if the freeze, or last years drough, didn't bother them.??There are no obvious problems.? There have been two nights below freezing with accompanying frost.? Monday night was the worst of the two.??
