Hmmm, well now that is intriguing.  I have been watching my beds with
great interest and no signs of color yet.  The front runner this year is
the 05-150 seedling that was frozen out last year.  Neither the old
reliable Zunk historic which always blooms first, nor Jesse's Song who
always blooms second have stalks out of the fans.

I suspect the season here will be a bit foreshortened.  According to
notes I made the first crosses of 06 on Apr 28.  Why does it seem like
this season is so much further behind than that?  I suppose that has to
be the combination of the drought and the Sabbath year.

Certainly a good opportunity to practice patience.
