To summarize/simplify, theoretically,

if it's deep gold with tangerine beards (as demonstrated by alcohol soak), cross with pink to get orange..

if it's pink (with t beards, of course), cross with alternate yellow to get orange.

& keep fingers crossed that all the other genetic paraphernalia that it needs to express orange is lined up just right.

Right?

Thanks for asking the question, Paul and many thanks again, Chuck for trying to sort this stuff out and sharing with us.

I kept getting turned around and putting alternate yellow (HoM) on the deep gold t bearded seedling (Golden Immortal X Doctor Alan) today. As soon as I did it this AM, I realized that was <not> what I meant to do. Then turned around and did it again tonight.

drat.

Linda Mann east TN USA zone 7, definitely not the vale this year.
