I think the pollen exchange is a great idea, and I am willing to help. B Is it
possible to list varieties whose pollen we are seeking? B I don't have a list
of all the varieties whose pollen I hope to have available, but if I see
someone is looking for pollen from a variety I do have, I will be glad to
collect it for them.

Chuck great! I will add your name to the donor list can you give me a
approximate time in which MDBs would be in bloom?--Bob Pries

Great idea.B It will be at least a month before I have anything in bloom. But
I'm willing to sendB MDB and SDB pollen south to those wanting it for TBs.B
B IB will save and send upon request, rather then try to keep a library.B
too many cultivars hereB to do that.

Subject: [iris] Pollen Exchange

Dear Iris Hortnet friends: I do like this forum even though it is not used
much. I have initiated a new program called the Pollen Exchange. For more info
check out Pollen exchange in the general index of the Iris Encyclopedia or
click onB http://wiki.irises.org/bin/view/Main/InfoPollenExchange .

My bloom season has barely begun for my MDBs, so I have collected pollen from
only a couple of Iris so far, but this exchange I hope will create a number of
opportunities for people to try crosses that would be difficult without saving
their own pollen in some cases for more than a year.

Since the SDBs were created by Paul Cook and Geddes Douglas exchanging pollen
through the mail I can point to that notable success. I believe results maybe
iffy but the amount invested is very low compared to buying and growing many
plants. The exchange will be advertised in the upcoming AIS e-news letter,
News & Notes, and The Dwarf Iris society's new upcoming E-Newsletter 'Small
Talk'. The Dwarf Society's Small Talk will be free to anyone who sends me or
Lyn Wilson their e-mail address. I hope anyone interested in Dwarf Irises will
subscribe.
