Re: INFO: Iris Societies

What great information on the Iris Societies. The note said that auctions
and sales are great ways to build the collection inexpensively.
DON"T GET ME WRONG HERE:
You gotta be kidding. At our auction (at the WEENIES or Western
New York Iris Society) Sale and Auction, you'd better plan to mortgage
the house and/or sell the car for whatever you can get. Those auctioneers
are OUT TO GET YER MONEY!! We have raffles for great iris, iris-related
items to decorate the wall. We have photos of irresistable iris big and
small. We have hats and tee shirts to tell the good guys (Members) from
the suckers (people who buy buy buy) and we have LOTS and LOTS of fun.
Anyone on this LIST who isn't in a local club aught to START ONE.
The best people in the world grow iris -- it's a CLASS ACT(whoever is the
hybridizer??)
And get to know the other folks on this LIST who are in clubs and get great
ideas and just have a whole lot of fun with this plant!! And watch out --
yu will have to dig more lawn . I ALWAYS buy more than I have room for
and spend more than I have.
