Hello,
Like Clarence, I do use 10% bleach on plants but usually when I
have a 'pest' problem and nothing else works - maybe I even use some 5%
because it is very, very diluted. But it is applied with a squirt bottle
not 'thrown on' and not as a matter of course. I find myself using the
'bleach treatment' on Japanese I. lately since I have had more trouble
with them - "August Emperor" was one I tried to save and didn't so it
doesn't work all the time! That problem was wire-worms.
I must tell you inhabiters of the more 'temperate' climes that
we STILL have inches of snow covering our back gardens - but the good news
is I can see some daylily markers - no Japanese markers yet because of the
depression they are planted in - I have got to get some dwarfs this year
because I don't want to wait until the end of June to see any iris! :)
Cheers,
Ellen Gallagher - Zone 3
