We have grown CHAMPAGNE ELEGANCE for a number of years in most excellent
rot conditions. :-\ Southern Virginia's heat and moisture will set crown
rot sweeping through anything that is not resistant. CHAMPAGNE ELEGANCE has
never shown any tendency towards soft, crown or winter rot. IT JUST
REBLOOMS TOO LATE drat it anyway! It is a lovely iris -- admired by all who
vist our garden in spring -- but, for us at least, it dosen't start fall
stalks until November and almost always succumbs to frost. And yet... I see
where it is nearly an everbloomer in areas of the country that have a far
shorter growing season than do we. Sigh.
