They're a fabulous iris variety native to the Pacific coastal areas of the US
and Canada. They like shade, and aren't very large. I haven't seen one yet I
didn't want a sample of for my own yard. People tell me they don't do well in
other parts of the country. Your mileage may vary.
Maryott's (my local Iris farm) have seeds for PCN, but PCN rhizomes aren't
available. To date, I've had only one PCN seed make it to bloom (out of 30 or
so), but it was well worth the effort.
