Julie, thanks for answering my question about the abbreviations for judges. And
Carolyn, thank you for expanding a little on the combined show/garden system in
the AIS. This sentence was puzzling, though:

'On the bench' as opposed to....? Is it anything like being 'on the wagon' <g>?
>> As a potential judge, you should be after your RVP and local chairperson
>> to bring judges'training to your group ....
I'm not judge potential, but this is good advice to anyone here who is a member
of an AIS-affiliated iris club.
ALL: Anyone growing the tall bearded SONG OF NORWAY? (Luihn '79, pale blue
w/darker blue beard, 38" ML) I was drawn to it at a garden last May, and
wondered what list members had to say about it (or have heard or read) in the
way of its stand-up-without-staking qualities, hardiness, rot resistance....
