I'm new and have a question.


	Finally, after years of renting and trying to live there long enough 
to actually see the bearded iris's bloom - I actually have bought a house 
and the iris's I planted now have "green things" a foot tall.  Perhaps 
flowers will actually appear thus my question -

	My question after reading a couple of books on Iris is this:  How much 
of the rhizome is in the dirt and how much is exposed above ground.
	I read that if its buried to deep that all you get is leaves and no 
flower. 

	By the way half of my iris rotted due to the extreme amount of rain in 
Vernonia, Or.  The northwest is now having another week of almost continous 
rain. I think that it went over 5 inches this month already. It looks like 
it will be 6+ for the month.

	I'm enjoying this list more than the others - but then they relate to 
work.
