Just a few comments...I do not believe they eat anything in their path...it
is my understanding that they only eat irises and other iris borers (in any
stage)...the fact that they only eat these things is (I understand) why it is
so difficult kill them with pesticides (except Cygon). Also, they will NOT
lay their eggs on other plants...only irises. So if you have irises in your
area and clean up in the fall, they will lay their eggs right down in the top
of the rhizome...which is why some iris growers will not clean their beds
