It is convention time and I am off to Sacramento in the morning. (about 4
hours for me)
I am looking forward to meeting all of you. Please wear your geek labels.
The one thing I am not looking forward to when I get home is at least 2000
messages to go through. I sure appreciate accurate subject headings.
The weather here today is beautiful. We should get a light rain Sunday
night and then beautiful weather for the convention.
Planning the convention has been a real experience. Without computers, fax
machines and the great lower telephone rates I don't know how it could have
been done. Yes you all are just a computer number.
Some experiences I will never forget are the series of faxes in the middle
of the night from Moscow, Russia. We have three visitors coming from there
and the last two just sent their money without any other information. That
was two day's ago.
>From some of the phone calls I feel like I must know some of the members
better than their families. You would be amazed at the stories I have
heard. This is a major event for people and I have tried to assist all the
best I could.
How about the $15,000.00 check sent as final payment on the busses that
came back from the post office two days after our Treasure mailed it,
without an envelope, letter or explanation.
My book on how not to be the chairman of an AIS convention will be out some
time in the fall! I am kidding as it has been a great experience, although
I don't know if I would do it again.

Looking forward to getting back to my garden on the beautiful North Coast
of California
