One of the 4 stalks I took in to our (San Fernando Valley
Iris Soc.) show was a Mesmerizer with two spent blooms and
two buds in the process of opening. After cleaning it up as
much as possible I spent over 1 1/2 hours blowing warm
moist air on the buds. I managed to get both open, and
got a Blue and Best of Section (Novelty TB), and it was
runnerup for Queen of show (getting two out of six votes!).
Not bad for a stalk I almost left home.
The winner was the BB Hi.
