Re: Virus


I suspect the virus is the AOL4Free message itself.  These warnings of
email viruses are invariably hoaxes.  You cannot get a virus on your
computer simply by opening an e-mail message.  We have confirmed this by
contacting AOL's help line.  Only if you download a program and put it on
your hard disk can you be infected by a virus through e-mail.  Viruses are
programs, not documents.  Email messages are documents.

Pranksters start these "warnings" going, and of course wary persons send
them to all of their lists.  Eventually the prankster gets the "thrill" of
seeing the warning come back to him on one of his lists.
