I've heard this mentioned a number of times over the last couple of weeks
that I've been on the iris-l list. I've had I. japonica variegata for
around 5 years and not once has any green reversion appeared (am I going to
get trashed for "only" having it for 5 years and daring to comment?). I
even managed to get it to flower last year for the first time.
