I think I have colchesterensis, I know that mine was labelled as
Albopurpurea, but I'm not sure whether that is complete or not. Lovely
large flowers white marked with dark purple. I grow mine permanently
submerged in my garden pond (which does freeze over during mornings in
winter but not permanently or anything like that). It is completely
deciduous, reshooting in spring and flowering shortly afterwards. I have
it in an 8 or 10inch pot (can't remember which) and it has grown out over
the edge and has its roots down in the bottom of the pond with all the
waterlilies etc. For reference, my "pond" is a bathtub.... works admirably.

Anyhow, I divide and repot occasionally when they outgrow the area, but
otherwise they get no care or attention at all. Simply wonderfull getting
growth and flowers without doing ANYTHING.

I hope that this is of some help.

Cheers. Paul Tyerman (Canberra, Australia.....Zone 8)
