Hi Dennis,
I've never seen an iris blooming in Autumn. I live in hope. May be my
poking and prodding the base looking for blooms is cramping their style?

"desert" iris.
I believe this to be the case, and think parts of my garden would be
most suitabe. (The parts I forget to water!)

projects being undertaken?
I don't think they're that easy to obtain. There is at least one
hybridiser in Victoria (Sam Fankhauser, mentioned in Graeme Grosvenors
book).
>I have a vague recollection of Jan talking about growing them,...
I think Paul mentioned them. I'm having enough trouble coming to terms
with my addiction to TB's. Do you have rehab. centres in the States?
Bye,
Jan Clark, in Oz, where the yellow brick road leading to the Emerald
city, is lined with fragrant irises.
