Howdy All.
I have a query to put to you all if I may.
I've noticed that all my aril-cross irises (that I sent a list out of
yesterday) have red rhizomes that are somewhat "rounder" than the normal
irises (normal irises being flattened a bit more). Has anyone else noticed
this? Are aril rhizomes red and thats where the colour and characteristics
come from?
Just thought I'd ask. There seem to be so manyh of you over there in the
US who are into Arils. I've always sort of felt that I'm the odd one out
over here who particularly likes arils (well aril-crosses anyway..... I've
never been anywhere near a pure aril (nor for that matter have I even seen
photos.) )
Also, does anyone know a website that might happen to have photos of Trophy
(oncobred) and/or Sajjetta??
Thanks
Paul Tyerman (Australia) - where like our South African Colleague the
Moraea Polystachis is in flower. Bright mauve-blue iris-like flowers on
reedy stems around 3 foot tall. Such a lovely thing to appear out of
nowhere in Autumn.
