That is a truly bizarre and interesting assortment of stuff, Gunnar. I've
filled in some information for you. Some of those things aren't widely grown
over here, although I'm coming to know that remarkable things survive
elsewhere in the world that we have either discarded, or lost track of in the
US.
I don't quite know what to tell you here.There is one on this list I'd jump up
and bark like a seal for, but the fact remains that most of these are quite
old and given your disappointment over the iris you got in the plastic baggie,
which sounded a lot like it might have been a G&K variegata whose name I shall
not speak, I'd suggest you go with the newer things, or possibly the Sass
irises.
