OT-Plants: Allium

Normally I would not post this type of message, but on a light
evening... When I lived in Lexington, there was one lady who loved the
various types of Ornamental Alliums. These are close relatives to the type
of Onions that people eat. Well, once she bought several of a newer type
of Allium for $12.95/bulb. She put them in the refrigerator to store until
proper planting time.
For a special occasion, she hired a cook to come in and fix a meal.
The wrong "onions" went into the salad. From what I understand, no one got
sick. The point of this is to indicate that all stored bulbs should be
labeled.
