Dennis,
I just purchased a Neomarica yesturday and planted it in an iris garden with full
sun. Last night I was trying to read-up on walking iris in Brickell and Zuk.
They do not say much but do mention it needs partial shade. I almost went
outside to lift and move it by moon light. Do they really need part shade?
I was told the plant I acquired was propagated by a lady who lives only about 30
miles south of me yet Brickell and Zuk indicate that it may not be hardy here.
Does anyone know if it will be hardy in zone 8b?
At the nursery where I happened upon Neomarica they had one in a hanging basket.
It was 'walking' out of the basket and spilling out over the side. Attractive
presentation.
Barbara,
I grew up in Corpus and know the LA's do quite nicely there. At least they do
well if you keep them in a bog or well-irrigated.
