The question was raised as to whether L|As would be tall enough to be
planted behind some other rather tall plants. My LA experience is
too limited to allow me to answer that directly (though based on
those I've seen I would think the answer would be, "No." However,
if it's tall iris you want and need, why not go with Spurias. They
would easily be tall enough, have a wonderful range of spectacular
colors, are not hard to grow, multiply wonderfully without becoming
a nuisance, and are certainly suitable to the climate in your area.
