Dennis,

With the cold weather we have had over the past three weeks its as if
your iris are in the refrigerator.  Iris buds and flowers will take a
long time to open with temps in the 40's/50's during the day and 30's in
the evening.  So be patient and realize that once it does open it could
stay open for a week if the weather remains the same.  However, as you
probably know we are going to get a warm spell.

Then again your bud may have blasted if it was exposed to rain, wind and
the cold weather.  Test it by gently pressing the bud between thumb and
forefinger.  If it feels slightly mushy and not firm than I would expect
bud blast.  Sorry.
