CULT: winter deciduous, ancestry

Juri Pirogov tells me that AMBER SNOW is very freeze sensitive for him.
He says he has tried it three different times, and it has always died.
But he has good winter snow cover, so perhaps it is not happy under the
snow?

Also, I hear from Walter Moores that my pallida x MULBERRY ROSE (winter
deciduous non-pallida style) froze and died for him. This baby has
pallida deciduous style foliage, but is a later bloomer. Things were
farther along where he is than here when the freeze trauma hit and he
has 'real' soil instead of a rock-pile, and he wasn't growing it out in
the fescue, so like everything else we learn about growing these plants,
it all depends....

Ann Pierce has reminded me that the HIPS page has some family tree
information that I haven't looked at which may help fill in some of the
<??> in the charting I did. Also, if it really does rain all day and I
don't get washed away (grim humor), I will rummage in the archives to
see what other clues I can turn up.

Sounds like this isn't totally boring to everybody, so I will continue
sharing what I find.
