Foundlings

Dear Fellow Irisarians,
For some time I have been meaning to add my two cents worth to the
ongoing discussion of the ethics involved in rescusing abandoned flowers
at old home sites.
I realy feel that we have a moral obligation to rescue and return to
cultivation these splendind old timers.
It is sad to think of all the beauty that has been lost to the world by
the disappearance of thousands of varieties of roses, iris, etch.
If I spot a desirable flower growing in an abandoned location,I never
hesitate.
To quote Khruschev,I believe, my hand does not tremble.
In my garden I have growing many cherished iris that I know only as
UNCLE DOUG,DEARING HOUSE,KUNNES HOUSE,OLD BLUE,etc. They are treasures
and I like to think that I have been doing my part to perpetuate their
beauty.
