I also posses an opinion.

I have no intention of getting personal here, so I will just say this:
Thornbird is better than any lousy pink on the market, or yellow for
that matter, in my opinion, in my particular garden. The reason is
simply that it is distinctive and it grows well.
Hybrid vigor has been lost in all of the dime-a-dozen solid color
breeding lines in bearded iris when they are truly put to the test.
Orange? Anything new never lives for us. Yellow? New moon was nice,
never grew well, anything with that in the parentage is as good as
dead. Thank god some breeders are looking for something else,
hopefully the less ideal climates (anything other than N. Cali and
Oregon) will be able to grow intros coming out or there in twenty
years. Thornbird gotr the Dykes because iris growers want to see
something else.
