To which several people have replied with information and assurances that
yellow Dutch irises DO, in fact, exist and are to be found in various
catalogs.
The existence of yellow Dutch irises is not in dispute. The access problem I
referred to in my post was Donald Eaves' stated problem of not receiving
yellow Dutch irises when he has ordered them. He orders yellow, and he gets
everything but yellow. He has had this problem even with very reputable
catalogs. We have now heard that the problem may originate in the fields of
Holland where bulbs are shipped before being seen in bloom. His experience
would seem to indicate that, at least at the moment, there may be fewer yellow
Dutch irises available than is optimum. But yellow ones certainly have
existed, and do exist.
