I'm sure the west coast folks are marveling at how excited a northern girl
gets over a few paltry iris blooms - but it is truly a miracle to have bloom
and it's not even May yet!
Today's bloom is on JAZZAROO, a Blyth Standard Dwarf Bearded. Blyth, most of
you know, is an Australian hybridizer who has introduced some different color
combinations that sound awful, but are mesmerizing in person.
JAZZAROO has dark burgundy falls with a thin rim and murky green domed
standards. This particular baby is LOADED with buds and already has three
blooms out. I have to struggle to tear myself away and get to work.
Isn't it interesting that the two earlist blooms in my garden are both from
foreign hybridizers?? Chapman from Canada and Blyth from Oz.
