Hi L-ers,
I just got my Iris and Collectibles catalog from Jim & Vicki Craig. How
exciting! I have been following their aphylla work for a while and am quite
impressed with their varieties. Two years ago I saw Departure, a heavily
ruffled , branched and budded pristine white IB from their aphylla lines and I
was HOOKED! I ordered a bunch of their varieties last year. At the moment, in
my garden Chartres (Craig '97) is showing color in the buds. I have been
mesmerized by it's picture perfect stalk with wide candalabra branching (one
branch is coming up from the base of the stalk). I am sooo tempted to go feel
up the spathes to count buds but I am afraid in my excitement, I will squish
the buds. The flowers will be the icing on the cake.
