Re: Shade vs. Sun Quandary

Perhaps it would be practical in some instances to use Clematis,
Lonicera, and/or other climbing vines to provide perennial or temporary
shade relief to the garden? Where permanent plantings are not desirable,
a vine can climb a trellis or other supports set in a large pot, 14
inches or larger. The pot/s may then be moved where and when as needed
to screen the desired areas. Lower cost solutions may include bean
poles, string, twine, tomato cages, etc. Some of the climbers grow
quickly each season, and they may be in place about the time they are
needed. You can proceed to enjoy the flowers and eat the vegetables on
the vines.
