Reading recent postings regarding systemic insecticides, such as the
Bayer products, I'm beginning to worry about my butterflies and the
almost non-existent honeybees and others that visit the garden. Does
it make its way to the nectar? It would seem it might. Granted, they
don't seem to like roses much, which is what the Bayer product is
listed for, but are these types of systemics inherently dangerous for
the good bugs?
Bees prefer smaller flowering plants. plant some clover, let your basil
flower, etc. If they are in the areabees will come to these plants.
