This update on Larry's recovery just appeared on a daylily robin.
'I spoke to Larry Harder's sister Nancy earlier this afternoon. Larry is
still hospitalized, and will be hospitalized for quite a while. Nancy said
the Harder family is cautiously optimistic. Larry is slowly recovering but
is not yet out of the woods. He is up and walking a little more and a little
farther each time. He is nourished through IVs and can't eat anything (not
even broth). Kidney and blood tests look positive.
Broth and food intake attempts will be the next big step - results will show
how Larry's pancreas is working. Nancy said that Larry Harder's mother has
been a pillar of strength to her family throughout all of this.
Only family can visit Larry right now. The Harder family asks that our cards
and prayers keep coming. Larry's mother reads his cards to him every day.
Nancy said the cards have been an inspiration to Larry, because they show him
how many people truly care. Larry has been moved to Room 427, so his address
is now as follows:
