Gerry Snyder,
The AIS membership in general supports the creation of an AIS sanctioned
"Popularity Poll" that accurately reflects the relative popularity of irises
among it's 7000 or so members.
Iris-talk post germane to the issue have run 10 to 1 in favor of creating
such a poll in a manner similar to that suggested in Soap Box # 9 whereby 5
or 10 write in iris candidates are compiled and tabulated by region on a
national level.
Volunteers are willing to compile and tabulate such votes.
It is not necessary to replace the Symposium ranking with the Membership
Popularity Poll.
Do you believe you understanding of the merits of this issue and the
memberships desire to do so sufficient to champion it before the AIS board
and procure its sanctioning?
Thanking you in advance,
Bill Burleson 7a/b
