Re: RE: Hardy Pinks

Chuck, I have some gorgeous pink seedlings from Celebration Song. I wish I lived in a cooler climate. Celebration Song here both blooms out and rots easily. Some of these seedlings do also. I'm afraid that I'm losing CS this summer, and I won' replace it. It's too much of a heartbreaker. Its most beautiful seedling, an orchid that looks pink in the sun and blue in the shadows, has exactly the same habits. I'll probably baby it along for five or six years then lose it. Fortunately there are other pink/lavender bicolors that grow better here, Poem of Ecstasy, Pond Lily, and a new one by Ghio in my guest garden, Amiable, a seedling of Pond Lily. I wonder if any of the pollen daubers on the list have seedlings from Poem of Ecstasy?

Two pink that have performed very well for me and are hardy and have good increase are Dreamsicle and Descanso. they are both doing better then Vanity, something I didn't think that I'd see. My own BB, Eramosa Miss is very ruffled and very hardy. Also consider Celebrationg Song. Pink standards over pastel lavender falls. Its exremely hardy and should produce pinks in all crosses with pink. I have about 10 pods on CS right now hoping for a very nice hardy pink seedling.
