Your assertions and weighting of results retard rather than facilitate a
simple process. Once the poll is conducted and the data is tabulated and
totaled by region for each cultivar, to suggest it not be totaled nationally
places an unnecessary burden on those who desire to know. Anyone wishing to
do so can draw whatever valid statical inferences they wish from the results.
The important issue here is to conduct a poll that places equal value on the
vote of each AIS member and one that accurately reflects the irises they
choose as favorites.
