Actually, it is my understanding that Milky Spore is a living organism not a
chemical. It is like the nematodes (sp?) we use for possible borer control.

This is the full explanation that we received.
It seems that some of the chemicals used will kill the Milky Spores. So, we
were advised not to use any chemicals if we chose to use Milky Spores. As
for the chemicals, the beetle has to ingest them for them to work. Once the
beetle is dead, the eggs that they carry are still viable and will hatch.
The newly hatched grub worms then bury themselves. Thus, the cycle is not
broken. Milky Spores break the cycle, but since Beetles can travel miles no
dent is really achieved unless a whole neighborhood uses the Milky Spores.
