I received a copy of a rather plain iris catalog yesterday. (No color)
It has some interesting prices and a term referring to 'i. germanica' I
have not encountered before.
Purple bearded iris (Sylvan Iris) - an old time purple flowered
bearded iris for the South . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .$20.
White bearded iris (Iris albicans) - and old-time, white flowered,
bearded iris for the hot humid South . . . . . . ... . . . . . . . . . .$15.
I was thinking that these are what some locals call cemetery
flags.
