Hi Pat,
I would suggest that if you want very reasonably priced and very large healthy iris, that you try Sutton's Sunset &/or Timeless Collection. Sutton's has a fantastic selection for extremely low prices. I have growing conditions that are very similar to Laurie's in MN and can't afford to buy expensive rhizomes only to see them perish over one of my northeast Wisconsin winters, or rot in my hard clay soil during the following spring and summer. I've been buying many less pricey but gorgeous varieties from Sutton's to try out here with the knowledge that some will make it and some will not. The ones that survive and prosper will have won a place in my iris collection and the others will become distant memories, many having died before they ever bloomed. The newcomers go into my "Darwin" iris bed while they run the torture trials of winter and any survivors get moved to permanent locations in my main beds. As Laurie put it, we have to practice tough love in our iris gardens.

I would like to let everyone know that the lady that complained earlier about Riverview, she had every right to complain if her order was anything like I received today from this same company. <snip>I would encourage all that read this to think twice before you order iris from anyone that has unbelievable prices.. In this case, you DO get what you pay for.
