RE: CULT: PBF ... sort of


Well, I do remember some controversy over the amount of PBF on several
cultivars in the past but I don't remember what decisions if any were
arrived at.  This iris came from Joe Ghio so any soil components would have
to judged by what is found at his place.  If that proves to be a factor I
want what he's got <G>.

Dana: Your comment on the very strong PBF on Tokatee Falls prompted me to
check my clump in the garden. All the fans in my clump (about 8 fans) have
only minor PBF coloring and that is only for about one inch above soil
level. Very much the antithesis of your description. I don't recall whether
or not soil mineral content was discussed as a possible factor in the depth
or lack thereof in PBF. I think we did cover about every other possible
determining factor. <G>
