Neil A Mogensen wrote (among much very interesting and educational stuff):
There have been a number of sports of HONORABILE (1840) that have been
registered. KALEIDOSCOPE (1929) (also known as "Joseph's Coat"), was a
variant of the variegata original, and I believe I recall SHERWIN-WRIGHT
(1915), a yellow self, being described as another. I am uncertain of the
latter. Honorabile was noted as prone to producing sports.
There is a cultivar from that same time period by Katkatmier called
JOSEPH'S COAT KATKAMIER. As far as I can recall, it is not a sport of HONORABILE
like KALEIDOSCOPE. The confusion may come from the fact that KALEIDOSCOPE
and JOSEPH'S COAT KATKAMIER are both small (IB-size) and have
variably-colored flowers - no two are quite the same. The two varieties
are noticeably different in appearance, though (we grow them both).
