Re: Cult:marking and mapping

Hi Patti,

I had hope to get discussion going.

I have a couple of additions to your notes.

First, I am a rummage sale person. My car stops at every one. Ha Ha!

But I do note the ones that have mini blinds for sale. If I can't get them
at the sale for free I check out the curb on garbage day.

I put the names on these as you do the knives. Cut them and I put them in
the hole under the Iris. Then I have the Iris marked similar to yours and I
put up a similar metal marker too. I add the size of the Iris to my marker.
Then I memorize the name and size without a lot concerted effort.

I do just about all the things you do but I have a digital camera and I take
a picture of every Iris on the day it opens. If the color or the visual
effects change significantly I will take a second picture.

Then on my computer spread sheet I insert the picture to go with all the
other information you said you pulled together.
So, in addition to the size on the marker such as MTB I look at the picture
every time I access the spread sheet and look up a particular Iris.

Thanks for all your help, Char New Berlin WI
