Dave, we have had years like that here and it was no fun. It has been just
over 1000 here for the last three weeks but is down to just below and just
over 900 for the last couple days. Cold wave? The Arils seem happy though.
Hope your weather gets better. If it is any consolation this kind of heat
does not seem to hurt next years growth.

Not a good year for rebloom for me here in NM. The 'Frequent Flyer' was
going crazy for a while there, hard to tell where one wave ended and next
started, but she's shut been shut down good for some time now. I think the
extra hot summer has put everything seriously to sleep (I think I had just
over 5 weeks with every day over 100 F, and several days over 110 F; none of
the nights were below 70 F). No growth, and lots of brown leaf tips
(meaning about half the leaf), even where I water every other day. I do see
a little new green activity starting now though, the temps are down now, for
about two weeks, even with one day not breaking 90 F last week, and it was
68 F when I left for work this morning.
Normally I should have a few plants blooming now, but not even a sign of
stalk anywhere this year.
Funny last year seemed hot, and it was extra dry, but it wasn't nearly this
hot, and it was a very good rebloom year, at least for the few old
reblooming IB's I have.
I have had a tiny bit of rot problem with my new arrivals, even a few TB's
rotted a bit. I think it's the heat, because it sure isn't water! Some
dried weed thrown over them and a bit of bleach here and there seems to have
stopped the problem though.
With any luck the hot summer will make for a good fall bloom? Here's to
hoping.
Dave
