Re: Cult:A rebuttal to marking and mapping

Ellen, your humor is such a delight, and you revived my spirits after reading
those meticulous planting ideas of others! And the pictures your
descriptions produced were hilarious! I could just see you scurrying around after
things, and the family playing hopscotch around the water buckets!
I was appalled that my "careful" method in comparison seemed so slipshod!
I am wholeheartedly with you as to enjoy irises and is also why I do not
sell! If I have doubts they are given away with a big ? on the leaves and people
can take their chances on getting a possible highpriced iris or! And those
I'm sure of, I am really sure of, and people know and count on this and are
happy when my generosity of surplus overflows into club sales, friends,
helpers, etc.
I plant alphabetically and have a card for each individual iris, so that
gives me a clue what was behind or in front of a missing labeled plant (due to
animals or garden-helper), But as you say, a more relaxed way to garden is
more fun -- and life is too short (and mine even shorter)! To go into such
details. However, I admire anyone who can stand that strain, m ore power to
them! Rosalie nr Baltimore zone 7, alternating between flood and drought
