RE: Cult -Cold Climate planting

I just set out an experiment on planting depth. 10 rhizomes in each of five depths.
1) backs exposed
2) backs barely covered
3) 1/2" over backs of rhizomes
4) 1"over backs of rhizomes
5) 2"over backs of rhizomes

10 in each planting of Garden Bride of rhizome attatched to a mother toe. Plants dived equally according to size and randomly assigned to group. I took a plant that was handy and I had extra stock of. Unfortunatly it is Garden Bride. I say unfortunatly as this plant is unkillable, at least I havn't found a way of killing it yet and none of my customers have either. I have never had a requeted replacemet under "guarateed survival for one year" plan and I send a piece to everone as it grows like a weed. It also thrives in the wetest area of the garden.

Thus the criteria will be have to be increases and size of increases. Any mortalities will be telling. Also bloom stocks on each planting will be interesting.

I should post results about mid June after they are in bloom and again mid August when increases can be evaluated. If I don't post results by that time someone should remind me to do so.
