As a lifelong horsewoman, I've never quite swallowed that bit about
horses being strict herbivores. I don't think it's possible for any
grazing or browsing animal to consume exclusively plant matter. It's not
like they meticulously wipe, wash, scrape, blow, or otherwise dislodge
every single bug from every blade of grass they consume. ;-)
