Dear Tom,
    Thanks. I am probably going to do a massive cleanup  both fall & spring, 
(if the temperature ever goes down) and use the granular  form of Merit as 
well,( if I can find it).
    I have a whole bunch of irises to plant as soon as  I can get the bed 
prepared, but the temperature is not cooperating. It has been  in the middle 90's 
all week & no rain for 2 weeks. So I am making labels  & plotting my bed, etc.
