At one time, my idea of a perfect long vacation would have been to start in
zones 9 & 10 and "follow" iris bloom season across the country!

Then, I'd come home from viewing gardens for a week-end or a week only to
realize that the prettiest were in MY garden. I'd set the suitcases on the
steps and rush out to see what opened up while I was gone.

I came back from a week in St. Louis in 2005, pulled into the driveway, and
went straight to the garden! I unloaded the car only after I'd checked all
the new blooms and made a couple of crosses! Well, I had to! Lots had opened
in five days!
