Linda, if you are planning to become an AIS affiliate, and you certainly  
should do so, then you may want to write to the AIS attorney Robert Plank
for 
some guidelines in by-laws.
 
 It is always good to get things up and running on a sound basis.  Beats 
bicker bicker bicker patch patch patch somewhere down the  road hands down.
 
You will need to be mindful of some particular factors so that your new  
group can be included under the AIS tax 501(c)3 classification. Bob Plank
should 
be able to help you here. He may even have drafted a generic set  of
affiliate 
bylaws to meet just this sort of need. 
 
I would imagine you can reach him via his wife, the sitting AIS President,  
at _aispresident@irises.org_ (a*@irises.org)  or 
_Plankmail@aol.com_ (P*@aol.com) .
