Poast is now a Hi-Yield product called, "Hi-Yield Grass Killer". You can
spray it directly over the iris and it will kill bermuda grass and several
other grasses as well. We have used it for years. We have also heard of
folks having pretty good luck raising a bed 12 inches and using a double layer
of weed fabric.

The
weed cloth will not keep out Bermuda grass or nut grass. We use
sprays to
kill grass in the flower beds. We used to use Poast but it's no longer
available. There are other products now that are specific to grass only
and
you can find them at Lowe's and Home Depot. We use Basagran for nut
grass.
