So true!! Very few DM's do well here in Northern Nevada, especially the more recent varieties. I've lost Splashacata three times and finally gave up on it. Crowned Heads doesn't like me either. I've replaced it three times as well. However, Stepping Out, Mesmerizer, Ola Kala, Coralie and Wabash reward me with beautiful displays regardless of the climate conditions. Starwoman tried to bloom this year but froze in the bud on May 17. Ditto Paul Black. I planted Florentine Silk last year and it produced a respectable increase but no flowers this year. Will see what it does next spring.

Everybody says it's because where most of the judges are is where most of the irises do well. & vice versa. On 8/13/2012 3:32 PM, Francelle Edwards wrote:That figures; Florentine Silk has died three times in my garden.
